The lbmk build system is GPLv3. Libreboot as a whole is mixed-licence: the documentation is GFDL-1.3-or-later, and MIT is the project’s preferred licence for new work. Naming one licence for the whole project would be a simplification, so we do not print one.

What that means for you in practice is unchanged either way: you are entitled to the source for the firmware on your machine, you are entitled to modify it, and you are entitled to flash what you build.

For any machine we sell, we will provide the complete corresponding source for the exact firmware revision that was flashed to it. Not the current release, not the nearest release: the revision on your chip, identified on the delivery note and readable from the machine.

Ask us and we will send it. There is no charge and no form. Keep the delivery note, because the revision identifier on it is what we look the build up by.

Not yet hosted. A per-release source tarball will be published here, one per firmware revision we have shipped, each with a checksum, so that the common case needs no correspondence with us at all. Until that link exists, the written offer above is the route, and it stands on its own.

lbmk is hosted on Codeberg and the Libreboot project documents the build for every machine it supports, including all three of ours. You do not need anything from us to do this: you can build the same image we ship and compare it against what is on your chip.

On the OptiPlex 3050 Micro you can also flash what you build without any external hardware. On the two ThinkPads the flash restrictions are already removed by the time the machine reaches you, so updates run internally from the machine itself.

Three typefaces are served from this site, and the licence for each is published alongside it under /fonts/. They are listed below.
